Radio and television personality Afrika Mdutyulwa, fondly known as Smash Afrika, is set to take the helm as the new host of ‘Big Brother Mzansi’ (BBMzansi) for its much-anticipated fifth season.

The reality show’s return has promised to deliver a fresh wave of excitement, drama, and unforgettable moments.

As he prepares to embrace the role of host, Mdutyulwa reflects on his journey in media, feeling both grateful and excited for this new challenge.

“I’m beyond grateful and honestly speechless because this opportunity was always meant to be,” he shares.

“Looking back at my journey in radio and TV, it feels like everything I have done has been leading to this moment. I may not have shouted it from the rooftops or had it on a vision board, but deep down, I knew something big was coming.”

He further expresses excitement for the show and aims to ensure he positively impacts everyone’s mood.

“I’m excited for the experience ahead and can’t wait to bring that energy to the audience at home and to the housemates whenever I can. I want to make sure everyone walks away feeling something good. The feel-good host is here, baby! Let’s get it,” says Mdutyulwa.

Hailing from Bloemfontein, Mdutyulwa has made a name for himself on airwaves, including YFM, Mzansi Magic, and Channel O’s Massive Music show, demonstrating his strong presence.

His charisma and infectious energy have also made him a household name and a popular choice as a host at large-scale events like Rocking the Daisies and Black Coffee’s Block Party.

With his extensive experience and deep understanding of South African culture, Mdutyulwa is poised to expertly navigate the twists and turns of the Big Brother Mzansi experience.

The popular show is set to return with a captivating season featuring new housemates, exciting surprises, and riveting eliminations from January to March 2025, ensuring a thrilling experience for fans.
