Kaizer Chiefs coach Cedric Kaze had to settle for the single point in Saturday night against a stubborn Polokwane City at the old Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Limpopo showed up to support the Glamour Boys, with mostly yellow flags in the crowd. Looking to stay inside the Top 8 and push up further, Polokwane made life difficult for Chiefs in the first half and dominated them in the second in the 0-0 draw

Polokwane imposed themselves in the second 45 while Chiefs lacked cool heads in the first half, according to Coach Kaze.

"I thought we were better in the first half of the game but we lacked some composure. Instead of taking an extra touch, we were just taking one touch. That showed it was being played quicker than how it should be," Kaze said.

"We knew Polokwane City would defend and try to catch us on the transitions with a lot of long balls. By the end of the second half, though, we lost a bit of control of the game and allowed them to gain confidence and get into attacking situations."

Kaze said their substitutions didn't have their usual effect on the game, which is something they will analyse after the draw.

"In previous games, our impact players were making a change in the game, but today they didn't. That's something we are going to look at," Kaze added.

Chiefs have the mammoth task of the Soweto Derby next week. To make matters worse, they face an Orlando Pirates side who are top of the league. Pirates delivered a confident 3-0 victory over AmaZulu at home on Saturday, giving them a huge upper hand and something bigger to play for come next Saturday.

That goal is to stay ahead of Mamelodi Sundowns. Chiefs have a bit of a cushion after the loss for AmaZulu, who were the closest behind them in fourth position, but Amakhosi will still need to find something they haven't found this season to beat Pirates.

"But it was a good point away from home and now we just have to focus on the next game," Kaze concluded.
