Despite the fact that Orlando Pirates already failed at the first opportunity to win the Betway Premiership title, former Buccaneers coach Muhsin Ertugral believes the Soweto Giants will get the job done at the second time of asking on Saturday.
With Mamelodi Sundowns three points ahead but having already played their final league game, Pirates faltered with a goalless draw when they hosted Durban City last weekend.
They will now have a another chance at popping the champagne, when they take on Orbit College FC at Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit with the simplest of equations: win, and they win the title.
Anything less (a draw or a loss) will see Sundowns extend their league domination to nine league titles in a row.
“These are not easy tasks. From the outside, it can look much easier than when you’re on the field. The boys are on the field, they are under pressure to deliver, and you expect that one goal to happen, but in the end, it's very difficult,” Ertugral told Ongama Gcwabe for SportsBoom.co.za.
“But I wouldn't go for the boys, I mean, they did their best, and success doesn't come by luck. The entire season, the team has performed, in my opinion, very well. In the last week (of the league), they should win it."
“Obviously, it's also going to be tough because there is another team that’s facing the (relegation) battle down there. But I think in the end success is never by luck, it has to be deserved.”
