It’s Paris Fashion Week and stars are out to dazzle the red carpet with their stylish looks.
One of those is Grammy award-winning A-pop star Tyla.
One thing the 24-year songstress loves is an archival and homage piece, which she always manages to slay the Tyla way.
The "Chanel" hitmaker stunned at the Jean Paul Gaultier AW2026 show on Sunday, March 8. She wore a dramatic black corset dress featuring the fashion house’s signature cone bra silhouette.
The structured bodice featured the pointed cone bustier that became a defining element in Gaultier’s fashion legacy.
The design first appeared on the runway in the late 1980s before becoming a global pop culture moment when Madonna wore it during her 1990 "Blond Ambition" tour.
Tyla’s version reimagined the iconic piece as a corset-style dress. The fitted top flowed into a satin skirt that fell just below the knees, giving the look both structure and movement.
She completed the outfit with black Christian Louboutin “So Kate pumps”, the label’s signature pointed stiletto heels known for their sleek silhouette and glossy finish.
With all the drama in the front, her accessories, make-up and hair were kept minimal.
The singer added a white lace choker and delicate jewellery, including a subtle ankle bracelet that added a soft contrast to the bold design of the dress.
Backstage, Tyla caught up with Jean Paul Gaultier, sharing a moment with the legendary designer whose aesthetic she admires and references in her style.
Joining a mix of fashion and film favorites, the singer took a front-row seat alongside Barbie Ferreira and Macaulay Culkin.
Culkin, who appeared relaxed and seemed to be enjoying Tyla’s company during the show, kicked off his shoes at one point, revealing his toenails painted in red nail polish.
At some point he posed with the singer for a selfie, rocking blue nail polish on his finger nails, which matched Tyla’s nails. This caught the attention of fans and photographers nearby.
Other standout moments from Tyla’s appearance, however, had little to do with the runway.
“Tygers” went into a frenzy when they spotted Tyla using a BlackBerry Bold, a classic throwback that perfectly anchors her signature Y2K aesthetic.
Between the archival Gaultier moment, her front-row presence and the BlackBerry snaps, Tyla once again proved that when it comes to fashion, she always understands the assignment.
