Lerato Kganyago opens up about breast reduction surgery to relieve chronic pain

South African media personality Lerato Kganyago has revealed that she recently underwent breast reduction surgery to alleviate persistent back and neck pain caused by her large breasts.
Taking to social media, Kganyago shared details of her journey, explaining that the procedure was aimed at reducing weight rather than enhancing size.
“My reduction procedure was seamless and less painful than expected. It lasted about two hours, focusing on reducing breast size without adding implants, as the goal was to decrease weight rather than increase it,” she wrote.
She further described her post-surgery experience, noting that she initially had two surgical drains for fluid removal, which became more comfortable after their removal on the third day.
“Upon waking, I felt mild discomfort rather than pain… The nursing staff and Dr Paul Pienaar’s team were exemplary. Although I still have dressings, I find the procedure straightforward and quick to heal with proper precautions,” she added.
Kganyago, a celebrated radio and television personality, encouraged others experiencing similar issues to explore surgical options.
