A Tiktok content creator shared her cheesy pap recipe and sparked a debate on Tiktok. Would you try the cheesy pap recipe?

From pap nuggets to cheesy pap, it seems as though everybody is getting creative in the kitchen. This time, a Tiktoker has sparked mixed reactions after sharing her own recipe of “cheesy pap” and describing it as her favourite pap to make.
The cheese pap which consists of ingredients such as mealie meal, milk, butter and cheese. The final product however, still looks like your regular pap which everyone knows.
Tiktoker user @harppiness who has garnered over 200,000 views and more than 800 comments with her cheesy pap recipe told her followers that this not something that she does for social media, but she cooks like this on-and-off camera.
Tiktok users were shocked to see this kind of pap and flooded her comments section and even made jokes about the cheesy pap.
Tiktok user @khensii_m commented, “The way pap goes through a lot in this country.”
Tiktok user @phindileee1 wrote: “Yoooh milk and cheese and rama kanti are you baking pap?”
Tiktok user @kgau said, “I’m still recovering from pap nuggets.”
Even though Tiktok users did not like the idea of cheesy pap, some Tiktok users however commented and said they would love to try this recipe. While some cheese lovers also loved the idea of making cheesy pap.
Tiktok user @queen_nthabie29 commented, “I’ve tried this combo with a lot of cheese cause I’m a cheese lover, it’s the bomb with a bit of salt.”
Tiktok user @NatureKeemo commented, “This is new, I only know the one where you put the cheese on top like a pizza, but I’m trying this, with braai meat and a side salad.”
Another Tiktok user @Owam_coconut wrote: “I think this would taste so good.”
While the cheesy pap sounds weird, it has been cooked with qualified chefs sharing their recipes on Tiktok as well but referring to it as “braai pap”.
Tiktok user @mrsbelacooks, who has over 38,000 followers on Tiktok and shares recipes all the time with her followers has made a cheesy pap in 2022.
However hers is a little bit different as she adds cheese on top of the pap after she is done cooking it.

A Namibian food content creator @Milkandhoneyna also shared her cheesy pap recipe in 2023, with hers having a twist to it as she added cheese, mushrooms and bacon before putting the pap in the oven.
The final product ended up looking like lasagna.
