'It all happened so fast': Natasha Thahane mourns the loss of uncle and grandmother in same week

Grief has come swiftly for Natasha Thahane and her family.
She lost two close family members in just one week: her uncle, followed by her grandmother.
The actress shared an emotional post on Sunday, December 15, revealing that she and her family are going through a difficult time due to losing two family members in a short space of time.
“It has been an incredibly difficult time for our family. 🕊️ On Sunday, we lost my uncle. Just a few days later, on Wednesday, we lost my grandmother too.”
She recalled the day her grandmother took her last breath: “That Wednesday, I was sitting with her, braiding my hair. She asked me not to do single braids but straight back cornrows because they’re quicker.
“I listened, as I always did. Even in that moment, she was still guiding me, still being herself.
"While I was busy helping with the arrangements for my uncle’s funeral, she spoke calmly about what she wanted for her funeral.”
She added that on that day, they shared jokes, laughed and everything seemed fine.
But in a split second, she lost her grandmother, who sadly passed away in her family’s hands.
“She was FINE! She waited for my cousins, my sister, and for me to finish braiding my hair. And then everything happened so fast.
“She passed away in our hands. Lala Ntombi Endala (Rest in Peace)❤️ Thank you for the wisdom, the love, and the lessons you gave so freely.”
The consecutive losses have left little time to mourn, turning an already painful period into one marked by profound heartbreak.
The actress added that even though her heart is broken, she is at peace knowing that her grandmother is now resting.
“I take peace in knowing that she is now resting. They both did me dirty. It all hasn’t sunk in. Lord, please give us strength.”
The post was accompanied by a video that includes videos of her grandmother, which she has captured over the years.
Friends, family and industry friends offered messages of condolences, wishing Thahane and her family strength during this difficult time.
