Showtime Management and How Now Brown Cow Productions are bringing the Tony Award-winning musical ‘Dear Evan Hansen’ to South Africa.

Featuring a superb local cast, the production will run at Artscape, Cape Town, from 12 February to 9 March 2025, before moving to Montecasino’s Teatro, Johannesburg, from 15 March to 13 April 2025.

Tickets are now available at www.showtime.co.za or hownowbrowncow.co.za.

The cast boasts a mix of exciting new talents and established stars, ready to bring Evan Hansen's compelling story to life.

The coveted role of Evan Hansen will be played by Fleur du Cap Theatre Award winner Stuart Brown, a 2021 graduate of the Luitingh Alexander Musical Theatre Academy (LAMTA) in Cape Town.

Brown joins the ranks of Ben Platt and Sam Tutty, who have previously embodied the character. He comments, “This show is an incredibly special story that speaks to many of us about the impact of social media, mental health, and what it means to truly belong.”

The talented ensemble includes Lucy Tops as Heidi Hansen, Justin Swartz as Jared Kleinman, and Ntshikeng Matooane as Alana Beck, among others.

Singer-songwriter Keely Crocker will make her professional debut as Zoe Murphy, while Michael Stray portrays Connor Murphy.

The production also features renowned stars Sharon Spiegel-Wagner and Charlie Bouguenon in key roles.

Directed by Greg Karvellas, Dear Evan Hansen delves into themes of acceptance, mental health, and the longing for connection in a digital age. With its powerful narrative and relatable characters, the musical promises to resonate with audiences, making it a must-see event.

Due to mature themes and strong language, parental guidance is advised for children under 12.
