Avis relaunches chauffeured transfer service

Travellers looking for transfer services at South Africa’s three major airports namely Cape Town International Airport, King Shaka International Airport and OR Tambo International now have a reliable option with Avis.

The car hire services company announced the relaunch of its transfer service, Point 2 Point (P2P).

According to Avis, P2P is a safe, efficient, reliable and comfortable transportation solutions, which was part of its service offering and the preferred transfer service for thousands of business and private customers for nearly 17 years up until the time Covid hit.

Litha Nkombisa, Chief Sales Executive at Zeda Limited, said that due to the unprecedented nature of the Covid-19 pandemic, they had to take a strategic pause in their services.

“The pandemic thrust the entire industry into a period of reflection and innovation. We are pleased to re-enter the market, ready to redefine personalised travel. Avis P2P re-emerges ready to drive service excellence for our customers, unparalleled reliability, convenience and safety,” said Nkombisa.

P2P transfers are available in economy for example, Volkswagen Polo Sedan or similar and Multi Passenger Vehicle (MPV) Volkswagen Kombi or similar vehicles.

“Whether you are a frequent business traveller needing reliable transportation, or a parent juggling the delicate balance of school pick-ups, Avis P2P has the transport solution for you,” said Nkombisa.

Avis noted that safety remains the top priority for P2P and, as such, chauffeurs are carefully screened and undergo comprehensive training to ensure the safe transfer of passengers to and from their destinations.

“Furthermore, chauffeurs have been trained in chauffeur etiquette, MasterDrive, Advanced driving, First Aid, Basic Fire and other chauffeur related training,” said the car hire company.

Avis also said that the service will initially operate in Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg and more cities will be added in due course.
