WITH just under a week to go before the National Senior Certificate (NSC) final exams, KwaZulu-Natal Premier, Thamsanqa Ntuli, and the MEC for Education, Sipho Hlomuka, will conduct a media briefing on the department's state of readiness.

The event will take place tomorrow at 10am at The Marine Building in Durban central.

Ntuli will outline the measures taken to ensure the province’s education system is fully-prepared for the exams. He will also unveil critical measures to ensure a seamless execution of the 2024 NSC final exams.

A statement by the KZN Provincial Government said: "The premier will unveil efforts to ensure that security at all exam centres across the province is robust and reliable, and also detail the logistical plans in place to ensure exam papers are delivered to all centres punctually."

In addition, the statement said strict protocols were in place to prevent cheating and maintain the fairness of the process.

More than 170 000 full-time and 18 019 part-time matric pupils will write the NSC exams on Monday. The first papers will be English and Afrikaans paper 3. This will be followed by Computer Applications technology (CAT) on Tuesday and business studies and information technology on Wednesday.

The last paper, on November 25, will be Afrikaans paper 2.
