A woman and her boyfriend were arrested for her brother’s murder over a stolen cellphone, Gauteng police said yesterday.
The woman lost her cellphone and suspected that her brother had stolen it, said Warrant Officer Kay Makhubela.
She informed her boyfriend, who then stormed into the family house to confront her brother. The boyfriend then allegedly stabbed the woman’s brother to death.
The woman was arrested and her boyfriend remained under police guard in hospital. He sustained head injuries after being assaulted by angry community members, Makhubela said.
The woman was to appear in the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court this morning. – Sapa
