THIS IS the man who has evaded arrest for a week after allegedly slitting the throats of his lover’s two sons after the couple argued in Meadowlands, Soweto.

Acting on a tip-off, police arrested Clifford Mohlamme, 34, in Bramfischerville Phase 1 on Friday.

A weary looking Mohlamme made his first appearance at the Protea Magistrates’ Court yesterday and his case was postponed. He tried to hide his face, with a plastic bag, as press photographers jostled to get his picture, as he was led to the cells, following his appearance.

Mohlamme is facing charges of attempted murder and murder following the death of the younger boy at Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital last Tuesday.

Police spokesman Constable Sibusiso Chauke said Mohlamme attacked Kamo, 10, and six-year-old Thabiso Xaba at their home in Meadowlands on September 24.

Mohlamme was expected to appear in court next Wednesday for a bail application.
