Sports minister Fikile Mbalula has sent his condolences to the family of the late Orlando Pirates football team’s number one supporter, Nale “Mzion” Mofokeng.
“To the Mofokeng, Orlando Pirates and Safa (SA Football Association) family, we are with you in this sad time,” said Mbalula.
Mofokeng, vice-president of the newly formed SA Football Supporters Association and a prominent Bafana Bafana fan, died on Tuesday.
The 61-year-old passed away after being hospitalised since Friday.
“Mzion’s front-row seat at our theatres of dreams, our stadiums, will be empty because Mzion is no more,” said Mbalula.
Mofokeng had been an ambassador of hope and peace in football, Mbalula added. – Sapa
