Johannesburg - Popular amapiano duo TxC raised the bar high and created iconic cultural moments on the world’s biggest stage when they delivered a series of electrifying amapiano sets at the Qatar World Cup and the Fifa Fan Festival in Dubai at the weekend.

As an official partner of the World Cup, Budweiser provided the opportunity for TxC to shine on a unique global stage with a series of career-defining performances as the duo brought the “Amapiano Experience” to the BUD World Club in Doha on December 3.

Tarryn Reid and Clairise Hefke, who make up the dynamic global sensation DJ duo TxC, jetted off to Qatar last week for their two performances.

In transcending borders and cultures, TxC were an integral part of a star-studded line-up that included American rapper Lil Baby, DJ Armizy, Cote d’Ivoire’s Suspect 95 and Zambian hip hop artist Slapdee.

The amapiano duo, who headlined with a sunset performance at the Budx Fifa Fan Fest at picturesque Dubai Harbour on December 4, were given an opportunity to shine on a global stage.

Their performance was described as nothing short of energetic, charismatic and one of the best seen at the World Cup.

Speaking about the opportunity, the duo said: “We’ve worked so hard for this moment, and we hope that our fans are similarly inspired to take their own journey towards seizing greatness and pursuing their dreams. It’s all possible! This is such an exciting time for us, and we’re going to make South Africa proud.”

Budweiser has also created six Fan Zones across South Africa, to take place on December 9, 14, 17 and and December 18 at the Montecasino, Joburg; 86 Public, Johannesburg; Mitchells, V&A Waterfront, Cape Town; The Warehouse, Durban South Beach; Coconut Bar, Rustenburg; and Block 22, Pretoria.

Their trailblazing “Fierce Piano World Tour” has also garnered critical praise for outstanding club performances in the UK, Switzerland, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Portugal and Belgium.
