Well-known amapiano sensation Kabelo Motha, fondly known as Kabza De Small, has marked another major milestone after opening the doors to his lifestyle club, Piano Hub, located in the heart of Soweto, at the weekend.
When he announced it months earlier on social media, he said the club is for the culture — a spiritual home for purists, a movement that brings everyone together.
Prominent performers, including Black Coffee, Oscar Mbo and Oskido, were spotted in a number of photos showing their support.
These photos, coupled with congratulatory messages from friends in the industry and fans, have been extensively circulated on social media.
As he continues to claim trends on X, many of those who follow his craft also penned congratulatory messages for his new venture.
“Congratulations to Kabza Da Small on his new venture. Rather invest your windfall into a business or else SARS will take it. Furthermore, he must ensure the business is not penetrated by criminal elements,” said @Thisisvax on X.
Another user, @uuniversalmusic, also took to X and said: “Kabza has opened his club Piano Hub in Soweto, and for those complaining, the prices are reasonable, unlike Konka. Some of you are motivated by jealousy, but anyway, Kabza’s real fans will always come support him. Congratulations Kabza de Small, Piano Hub, is officially open.”
This momentous occasion came after the success of the highly praised Red Bull Symphonic Kabza De Small with Ofentse Pitse Symphonic Orchestra, an event that immersed audiences in a symphonic fusion of his amapiano hits such as “Imithandazo”, “Asibe Happy”, and many more.
This two-day affair merged amapiano’s addictive rhythms and iconic log drum melodies, which were masterfully arranged and played by a 33-piece orchestra and an eight-piece choir.
Additionally, the concert was explained as an African tale “based in our culture and history that sonically evolved into the internationally renowned amapiano sounds”. The genre, which is firmly ingrained in South African township culture, was reimaged with the majesty of artistic symphony.
In more interesting news about his music career, the Scorpion Kings (DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small) collaborated with Oskido on a new EP titled “One Drum”.
This collaborative project features a diverse line-up of artists from Africa and its diaspora, celebrating the rich musical heritage of the continent.
