Johannesburg - After a shortage of international entertainment over the last few years, international songstress and actress Pratibha Singh Baghel, will be in South Africa for two unique public performances this month.
Known worldwide for their creative East-West music collaborations, Inner Circle Entertainment has once again developed a musical masterpiece that will appeal to our nation’s broad and diverse audience. ‘Inner Circle Sessions with Pratibha Singh Baghel’ will take place at the Lyric Theatre in Gold Reef City on Sunday, January 29, 2023.
According to Nisaar Pangarker, founder of Inner Circle Entertainment, audiences can expect, “an intimate, unplugged and thoroughly enjoyable musical journey through Bollywood hits, movie favourites and classic numbers that will uplift and energise as well as soothe. I am confident that it will appeal to those who are already fans of what we do, as well as those looking to explore new experiences,” he said.
The Inner Circle Sessions concert on the Sunday will follow another yet different, performance on Friday, January 27, 2023, called ‘Symphony of Love’ led by Pratibha along with Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra (CPO), and backed by a 10-member international band featuring some of India’s current leading musicians.
Of her trip to South Africa and of her first time performing for a public audience, Baghel said: “Not only is this an exciting project and one I am immensely privileged to be part of, I can’t wait to perform for the South African audience. When Nisaar presented the opportunity, there was no hesitation.
“I also believe that what he does by melding Eastern and Western music into one harmonious symphony can be a metaphor for where the world needs to go. Through music we can explore each other’s cultures and realise that we can together, create something beautiful, and I am looking forward to sharing that.”
For those unfamiliar with Pratibha, the award-winning songstress, film and stage actress is based in Mumbai and over the years has built a large fanbase due to her versatility.
In 2020, she released her first ghazal album titled ‘Bole Naina’, which featured the legendary lyricist Gulzar and tabla maestro Zakir Hussain. This video attracted 50 million views in two days, a testament to her popularity.
