AT THE beginning of this year, we anticipated more celebrity babies and South Sudanese supermodel Adut Akech has joined the bandwagon.

The runway and editorial cover girl took to Instagram to share with her 1.8 million followers that she and her partner Samuel Elkhier, also a model, are expecting their first child.

Being the supermodel that she is, her pregnancy reveal was covered by “Vogue Magazine”. Speaking to the gloss, she told them that before she confirmed her pregnancy she dreamed that her sister was pregnant.

To her surprise, she started having weird cravings and felt nauseous the next day and that’s when it dawned on her that she could be the one expecting.

When it was confirmed, she was happy because she always wanted to be a young mother.

“I always said I wanted to be a young mom because I love the idea of growing up with your kids,” said Akech, who has a fond relationship with her mother, who had her at 20 years old.

“The age difference plays a huge role in how close we are,” she added.

As a person who loves children, Akech cannot wait to meet her bundle of joy.

“I’m good. I’m excited. I can’t wait. I’m like - can they just come already? I’m kind of over it and I’m just halfway,” said the mom-to-be.

Although she lives a glamorous life in Australia, Akech said she wants her children to be taught the same values she had growing up.

“When you don’t come from much, you don’t really value the material stuff. I could have easily gotten carried away with the life that I now live. But I think I’ve always just in the back of my head: remember where you came from.

“If I can take care of my family and take care of myself, that’s it, I’m happy,” she said.

“I just want to teach my kids what’s valuable. And what’s not. Just to be a kind, decent human being.”

Her supporters congratulated her and wished her well on her journey to motherhood.
