Dennis Ferrer’s “Touched the Sky” became an instant hit when it was released 17 years ago, igniting dance floors and playlists.
With its infectious beats, uplifting lyrics and themes of aspiration and transcendence, the quintessential deep house track from the US DJ and music producer continues to light up the music scenes, decades after its release.
In a bid to give the song a modern twist and to introduce it to a new generation of music lovers, it has been given an amapiano remix, which features DBN Gogo, Effected, Triple X Da Ghost and Mia Tuttavilla.
“This contemporary rendition of Ferrer's iconic 2007 track fuses the soulful essence of deep house with the vibrant pulse of South African amapiano, promising to captivate dance floors worldwide,” a statement read.
The original version of the single exemplified the deep house genre's soulful qualities. It quickly became an Ibiza favourite, reaching the number one spot on the Beatport charts as it solidified its status as a club anthem and a staple in DJ sets across the globe.

Meanwhile, prominent South African DJ and music producer, DBN Gogo (real name Mandisa Radebe) adds her vibrant flair to the song as her distinct sound features elements of house music as well as kwaito and jazz.
