Proteas’ captain Temba Bavuma won the toss and opted to bat first in the second Test against the West Indies at the Guyana National Stadium in Providence.

Explaining his decision, Bavuma said they wanted to make use of the good batting conditions on a bright and sunny morning in Providence.

Bavuma (86 and 15 not out), Tony de Zorzi (78 and 45), and Tristan Stubbs (20 and 68) will all be hoping to take their form from the first Test into this one.

On Wednesday, Bavuma spoke about how he wanted to see his batters play with more ruthlessness and go on to get big scores after getting starts.

Dane Pietdt and Nandre Burger are in for Ryan Rickelton and Lungi Ngidi in the only change for the Proteas, while Shamar Joseph comes in for Kemar Roach for the home side.
