Many people have been able to spend more time on fitness, health, and spending time with loved ones because they no longer have to commute. It’s evident that happy staff are more productive, and companies that use hybrid working arrangements reap the rewards.

Another study from Stanford University found a company's production can rise by 3% to 4% if commute time is reduced to only two days per week. "When they don't need to be in an office, employees have realised they've been wasting time commuting.” says Mark Dixon, IWG's founder and CEO. Companies also recognise the benefits of hybrid models. Employee satisfaction increases engagement, and businesses save a lot of money.

A Happy Workforce Drives Business Success

Increasing employee satisfaction and luring top talent are two goals of hybrid working. By pursuing a strategy of flexibility, companies may hire from a worldwide talent pool without being limited by geography. As flexible working becomes more and more common, 77% of workers now believe that having a workstation near their home is important for their next job. Employees also see hybrid working as being equivalent to a wage increase of 7% to 8%, according to surveys.

The importance of hybrid working in attracting talent is highlighted by the fact that 88% of workers regard it as the top benefit they look for in a new position, according to an IWG study. Today, almost half of workers would only choose employment that offers hybrid working because of how important flexibility is to them. Indeed, according to a Microsoft survey, almost 50% of workers would consider quitting their jobs if hybrid working was eliminated.

The future of work is being reshaped by hybrid working, which lowers carbon emissions while enabling people to live and work closer to home. "We're living through a landmark era of transformation in working life," observes Mark Dixon.
