Johannesburg - Former world boxing champion Dingaan “The Rose of Soweto” Thobela appeared at the Johannesburg commercial crimes court on Tuesday morning on charges related to his funeral service business.
The boxer, who owns The Rose Funeral services, is accused of contravening section 7(3) read with sections 1; 8 and 36 of the financial advisory and intermediary services act, 2202 (act 37 of 2002).
He allegedly did not register his business with the Financial Services Board as required by the Act. When he appeared in court today, the prosecutor stated that the defence had the last time asked to be furnished with copies of the dockets, something the state has now done.
The matter was then postponed to July 20 to allow Thobela to give instructions to his attorney. He is out on a R3 000 bail.
