Tyson Fury could lose his licence to box in the UK with the British Boxing Board of Control to discuss his troubled state of mind next week.

Fury gave an interview this week to Rolling Stone in which he saidhe hopes ‘to die every day’ and admitted taking ‘lots of cocaine’.

The Board studied the comments yesterday and general secretary Robert Smith told Sportsmail: ‘We hope he gets the help he needs and we are here to help in any way we can. We have a meeting on October 12 and Tyson’s licence will be discussed.’

Fury postponed his October 29 rematch with Wladimir Klitschko on September 23, his team claiming he was ‘medically unfit’, but it then emerged he had tested positive for cocaine. He announced his retirement on Monday, then claimed it was a hoax. Fury could lose his WBO and WBA heavyweight titles. The WBO set a deadline of yesterday for Fury to provide medical evidence for his postponement. He still faces a probe from UK Anti-Doping after a sample from February 2015 allegedly contained traces of the banned substance nandrolone. He insists he has never taken performance-enhancing drugs.
