London - British police say one of the detectives investigating phone hacking at the News of the World tabloid has been arrested on suspicion of leaking information about the investigation.
Police say a 51-year-old detective constable was arrested at work on Thursday on suspicion of “unauthorized disclosure of information.” The force said Friday the officers has been suspended.
About 45 police officers are investigating claims the now-defunct newspaper eavesdropped on the mobile phone voicemail messages of celebrities, royals, politicians and crime victims. - Sapa-AP
