Stockholm - Police have launched an investigation for attempted murder after an 11-year-old Norwegian boy was found hanging in a tree in western Sweden with a rope around his neck.
Police spokesman Leif Hultman says the boy survived because he could just touch the ground with the tip of his toes, but he was in shock when discovered by a passer-by on Friday.
He says the boy was playing on his own by the tree at a campsite in the town of Charlottenberg near the Norwegian border, when he was surprised by “one or several people” who put the rope around his neck.
Hultman on Sunday said police are questioning people who were on the campsite at the time, but haven't found any suspects. - Sapa-AP
