Durban - South African Décor and Design, The Buyers Guide, is in its17th issue.

The No 1 source guide to the décor industry in South Africa for professionals and homeowners, the directory includes thousands of carefully vetted and accurately listed details of suppliers and service providers relevant to every aspect of the design and design trade.

Whether you’re looking for bathrooms, bedrooms, antique shops, flooring, furniture, fabrics, architects, kitchens, lighting or even training and exhibitions, they’re all meticulously categorised in the 600 or so pages.

What I love about the guide is that it feels as exciting as the world of décor is – there are beautiful images to inspire, as well as fabulous tidbits from author Marcia Margolius, who clearly relishes finding innovative South African products such as the Work Local Design Initiative (www.workdesign.co.za), who manufacture in Jeppestown; Borowski art objects in glass (www.borowski.co.za); the vintage revival brand Hoi P’loy of handcrafted Thomas Edison light bulbs, coloured fabric, electric cable cord and more (www.hoiploy. com).

And there is much more to see and be inspired by in the book. - The Mercury
