When you're an actor, chances are your children will watch some of your movies at some point in their lives. But what Alicia Silverstone could never have imagined, was the awkward parenting moment that would follow.
During a recent appearance on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Silverstone revealed her son Bear's reaction to watching her hit 1995 film, Clueless— he tried to make out with her!
Silverstone explained: “I took him to see it because it’s at the LA cemetery where they show it for 4 000 people ... at night, in a cemetery, very romantic..."
Silverstone said that while her seven-year-old son didn’t pick up any of the more mature aspects of the film, he did try "French kiss" her afterwards, and while it did have her worried, she thought it was really "sweet".
To which a very concerned looking Colbert responded: "“And you said, ‘That is not appropriate?’”
“I just kept my mouth closed!” Silverstone replied. “That’s what I did. And I just giggled. It’s super sweet.”
“It is super sweet,” a dubious Colbert said.
After a brief pause, Silverstone asked Colbert, “Are you worried?”
“Nope,” Colbert insisted as the audience laughed.
“It’s fine, he’s not doing it anymore,” Silverstone said. “That’s what his takeaway was.”
