The Sotho idiom Le sele le bohweng ba ntja (The sky was clear without any clouds around), aptly described the perfect weather in which fans got to revel this weekend at the Captain Morgan Spiced Gold Beach Party in Soweto.

It was two days of music, dance, bikinis and tons of sand at Power Park in Orlando East. Now in its fourth year, the Soweto Beach Party has established itself as one of the best parties in town with more than 12 000 fans in attendance.

The Old Potch Road came to a standstill as revellers decided to turn the busy motorway into their parking lot. The star of both days was the MC, DJ Fets, who entertained the crowd with his freestyles and dance.

Chomee and her dancers, alongside Arthur, gave the best performance when they did the Seka Lekhekhe dance and Jaiva Sexy.

The event reached its climax when DJ Sbu, TS Records artists Sash, Izinyoka, Brown Dash and Robbie Malinga performed songs of the moment such as Remember When It Rained and Everything Happens For A Reason.

The Sunday session was a rather chilled affair with a strong jazz line-up which included Swazi Dlamini, Lucas Senyatso, Nombulelo and Joe Nina.

Other artists who attended the kasi beach party were Sunshine, Spuku, Relo, Mahoota vs Vetkuk as well as DJs T'Bo Touch, Nutty Nys and Kentphonik.
