The vibrant sounds of jazz will echo through the Durban Jewish Club this Sunday, March 2, at 3pm, as the Denis Hurley Centre (DHC) presents an exciting afternoon filled with music and community spirit.
This delightful event features the talented Melvin Peters alongside the dynamic duo, Debbie and George Mari, promising an experience to remember.
As the final Sunday before Lent, this gathering serves as the perfect opportunity to embrace a carnival mood.
Attendees are encouraged to indulge in pancakes and all the treats they plan to give up during the Lenten season.
"We are repeating the hugely successful jazzy afternoon that was held in 2020 in honour of the now late Mgr Paul Nadal," explained DHC Director Dr Raymond Perrier.
"The venue remains the same - the Durban Jewish Club in North Beach, which offers ample safe parking and a cool, comfortable atmosphere.”
The concert features some of Durban's finest jazz musicians and the performance is made possible by their generosity, with all artists donating their time and talents as part of a fundraising effort for the Denis Hurley Centre.
This inner-city interfaith facility plays a vital role in supporting homeless, marginalised and refugee communities in Durban.
Meanwhile, the concert will also offer a picnic-style around tables. These will be complemented by cinema-style individual seats for added convenience.
Tickets are R150 and can be purchased at Quicket.
As a special incentive, the first 100 people to book will receive an electronic thermometer as a gift: courtesy of the Islamic Medical Association.
With music, camaraderie and a chance to support those in need, the jazz afternoon at the Durban Jewish Club is set to be an unforgettable experience.
Mark your calendars, gather your friends and family and prepare for an afternoon of joy, jazz and generosity.
