Award-winning actor and television presenter Nomsa Buthelezi is set to make a return to TV screens as the host of "Konakele Kithi", a brand-new reality show tackling deep-rooted family conflicts.

Premiering on May 8 at 6.30pm on Mzansi Wethu, the show will offer families a platform to confront generational trauma, resentment, and everyday disputes, with the goal of breaking toxic cycles and fostering healing.

Best known for her iconic role as the host of "Our Perfect Wedding", Buthelezi will guide families through their personal challenges in "Konakele Kithi".

Each episode highlights different issues families grapple with, from generational trauma to everyday tensions like favouritism and lifestyle clashes.

With expert advice and support, the families will work toward restoring harmony and rebuilding their fractured bonds.

Buthelezi’s journey in the entertainment industry has been nothing short of inspiring.

Her career has been marked by resilience and determination, with a story that includes facing rejection and setbacks, particularly in her early days auditioning for "Our Perfect Wedding".

Despite these challenges, she became a beloved TV personality, ultimately winning the South African Film and Television Award (SAFTA) for Best Actress in a TV Drama in 2019.

In an interview on the "Engineer Your Life" podcast, she opened up about the harsh realities of the media industry, detailing experiences of abuse and betrayal by her peers.

Despite these challenges, Buthelezi draws strength from her faith and the support of her father, highlighting the importance of resilience and self-love in overcoming life's trials.

In addition to her success, Buthelezi courageously opened up about the personal and professional challenges she has faced due to her sexuality.

In a heartfelt TikTok video shared in January 2024, Buthelezi revealed the discrimination she faced as a lesbian in the entertainment industry, including losing job opportunities solely because of her sexual orientation.

With tears in her eyes, she shared the emotional toll the discrimination took on her, describing how she was mistreated by peers who took advantage of her knowledge.
