Last year, South African hip-hop sensation Blxckie posted a picture of himself in the studio with Canadian singer-songwriter Nelly Furtado in Los Angeles, California.

A year later, Blxckie is featured on Furtado’s new album “7” on the track called “Crown”.

On the track “Crown”, Blxckie steps outside the bounds of hip-hop, demonstrating his ability to lend his voice to Pop and RnB while maintaining his unique style.

“Being featured on Nelly Furtado’s album is incredible,” says Blxckie.

“She’s an icon and getting the chance to work on Crown with her shows that music has no boundaries.”

Blxckie is proving to be a dynamic force in the music industry, not only is he working with Grammy-winning singer-songwriter, he has even scored a BET Hip-Hop Awards nomination.

Blxckie, along with popular South African artist Maglera Doe Boy, features in the Best International Flow category alongside Nigerian artist, Odumodublvckmea and other musicians from France, UK and Brazil.

This is his second nomination in this highly competitive category, solidifying his place as one of the leading voices in global hip-hop.

“Super excited to be nominated for this award for the second time. I’ve been putting in a lot of work since the first one, so I’m glad to see it’s being recognised and that I’m moving in the right direction.”

Earlier this year, he successfully toured over 20 cities in North America with Dreamville rapper Bas.

The rapper from Durban, real name Sihle Sithole, has been consistently giving his fans fresh hits. He released a new EP “see u soon”, in July.
