“The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip - South Africa” star Christall Kay has penned a heartfelt tribute to billionaire Douw Steyn, the insurance mogul following his death at the age of 72.
Steyn's death was confirmed by Steyn City Properties, the luxurious 2000 acre estate in Johannesburg built in his name, Tuesday afternoon.
Kay posted a video on Instagram that had pictures of her and Steyn from their younger days. The pictures paint a picture of closeness between Kay and Steyn, in some of the pictures they are seen with their hands around each other.
“Today I am overcome with sweet memories and tears hearing of the passing of Billionaire Douw Steyn, my gentle kind heart, who filled my life with such excitement, passion, adventure and love,” she wrote.
In her tribute Kay praised the businessman and father, calling him the “utmost gentleman”. She even told her almost 80,000 followers on Instagram that she and Steyn did life together for a while.
“We did life together for a while both the triumphs and tragedies!! Thank you for your love, your generosity and showing me such a wonderful world. You will always be a true inspiration and hold a special place in my heart! RIP ❤️,” she said.
On the first season of “The Real Housewives of Johannesburg", Kay teased having been with a billionaire before but never shared his name.
Her post got mixed reactions from her followers with some questioning the sensitivity of the post since Steyn has a wife and children.
In a response to a follower, Kay defended her decision, by saying “he was my love too ❤️ and I never got to say goodbye 😢” .
