The music world is often described as a brotherhood, a unity that binds artists together, especially in times of adversity.

This sentiment was beautifully captured recently when South African rapper Da L.E.S, affectionately known as "The North God", received a heartfelt visit from some of his industry colleagues after a harrowing health ordeal that saw him hospitalised following a stroke.

In July, the hip-hop star was admitted to hospital, marking the beginning of a challenging chapter in his life. However, he has since emerged from this experience with a renewed sense of gratitude and resilience — qualities that are as infectious as his music.

Earlier this month, Da L.E.S took to his Instagram account, revealing his first health update since his hospital admission.

The message, shared by his family, conveyed that the rapper is currently in rehabilitation at home, surrounded by loved ones, and progressing through recovery at his own pace.

"He expresses deep gratitude for being alive, saying it’s a true miracle, and thanks God for his strength. 'I owe it all to God,' he shared," the post read.

It also assured to keeping everyone updated on his healing journey, appreciating the encouragement he has received during this difficult time.

“Da L.E.S is incredibly thankful for the outpouring of love, support, and prayers from his fans, friends, and everyone who has reached out. He will continue to update everyone on his healing process and appreciates all the continued encouragement.”

"Healing takes time, but he’s staying positive and focused on a full recovery," the message concluded.

Shortly after the picture of the celebs who visited Da L.E.S was shared on social media, many netizens reacted.

While many praised the show of solidarity, one user expressed a call for authenticity among celebrities, suggesting that genuine acts of kindness should not be a performance.

One user wrote: “Celebrities need to start being genuine and stop this thing of showing everyone that they did something good. They visited Da Les which is a good thing and now everyone has to know ukuthi (that) they did that hayi suka (no) man!”

A second user wrote: “Beautiful (heart emoji).”

A third said: “Good friends.”

In July, the rapper missed his birthday celebration due to the unfortunate circumstances of his health crisis, which had only come to light after a family statement revealed the seriousness of his condition.

On July 26, Da L.E.S suffered a stroke at home, leading to hospitalisation and a public outpouring of concern and love from his fans.
