Grammy Award-winning Nigerian Afrobeats artist Tems will be heading to Johannesburg to perform next year.

The live concert forms part of her “Born In The Wild” tour and marks the second time the artist will be performing for her fans in South Africa. She previously performed at an invite-only gathering in 2022.

The concert will take place on March 20, 2025, at the Dome, Nasrec.

“Born In The Wild” is Tems’s debut album and features 18 tracks including chart-toppers like “Me & U”, “Love Me JeJe” and “Burning” and collaborations from J. Cole and Asake.

The album, which was scheduled for release in 2023, only released in June due to unknown reasons.

This critically acclaimed project marks a significant milestone in her burgeoning career, showcasing her unique sound and lyrical depth.

The journey towards the album was not without its challenges. In an intimate conversation with Apple Music 1's Ebro Darden, Tems shared her candid struggles with burnout during the creative process.

She said: “We've been working on that music for so long. At some point I was like, ‘Is this going to ever end? Am I going to live in this studio? Am I going to be old when this album finally comes out’,” she said.

Despite the pressures, Tems emerged on the other side, reflecting on the relief and joy she now feels.

“But here we are and it feels good. Because now I can go back to the studio without feeling some type of dread,” she said, highlighting her resilience and renewed passion for her craft.

With her soulful voice and captivating stage presence, Tems’ fans can expect an extraordinary experience at The Dome.

The Discovery Bank pre-sale begins at 9am on Wednesday, November 27, and runs until 8.59am on Friday, November 29. Thereafter general tickets will be on sale.
