Durban – Several suspects are in court on drug dealing charges after the provincial drugs and firearms unit conducted an operation in Durban North.
They recovered drugs from two suspects valued R32 800.
Police spokesperson Constable Thenjiswa Ngcobo said two suspects were arrested at separate locations.
She said the police had received information about a man, 25, who was selling drugs at a taxi rank in North Coast Road. An observation was conducted and the suspect matching the description was spotted.
She said when the police approached the suspect, they asked to search him and they found rock cocaine and mandrax tablets worth R11 800. The suspect is appearing at Durban Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.
Furthermore, she said police proceeded to Inanda where they arrested a 49-year-old female for allegedly dealing drugs and unlawful possession of firearm and ammunition.
“The team proceeded to Amatikwe at Inanda where they went to a certain house where they found a female who confirmed that she was the owner of the house,” explained Constable Ngcobo.
She said the house was searched and police recovered 56 xanax tablets, 29 mandrax tablets, 50 pieces of rock cocaine worth R21 000 and a pistol and 10 rounds of ammunition.
She was detained at Inanda SAPS and she is appeared at Ntuzuma Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
