Cape Town - The festive spirit is in the air at Taj Cape Town, buoyed by the steady return of business travel, increasing local tourism and the reopening of international travel.

This festive season, Taj Cape Town is hosting a selection of gourmet lunches and dinners at the newly reopened Bombay Brasserie, The Mint Restaurant & Terrace and The Lobby Lounge & Bar.

Taj Cape Town’s executive chef David Tilly and his team are cooking up a storm this festive seasont and are excited to take patrons on a culinary celebratory journey of sensory delights.

Together with his team of Indian chefs, using only the best locally sourced ingredients and the finest imported spices from India, Tilly has created a festive season menu that will thrill and delight you.

The Christmas and New Year menus are crafted for pure indulgence by blending the best of Indian cuisine with Cape Town’s panache and flavour.

The plated set menus for Christmas Eve dinner (December 24), Christmas Day dinner (December 25) and New Year’s Eve dinner (December 31) will tantalise all taste buds.

A six-course menu featuring an amuse-bouche, tandoor, entrée and Karoo lamb shank for mains with honey and nougat kulfi with berries and cardamom meringue.

The menu has a vegetarian option as well with a vegetable kofta for mains.

The menu includes a L’Ormarins Brut Classique welcome drink.

“Food is an art. The taste, smell and presentation of every plate coming out of our kitchen is our pride and we want all our guests, loyal regulars and new alike, to enjoy the unique and pleasurable experience of our cuisine,” said Tilly, whose passion for food is heavily influenced by Indian, Asian and Far Eastern flavours.

The Mint Restaurant & Terrace and The Lobby Lounge & Bar’s festive season menus match the hotel’s luxurious accommodation, world-class service and warm Indian hospitality.

The buffet menus for Christmas Eve dinner (December 24) and Christmas Day lunch (December 25) will thrill and delight you.

Those interested are encouraged to join the hotel on New Year’s Eve (December 31) in The Lobby Lounge & Bar for a celebratory welcome drink, followed by a buffet menu of masterful creations to celebrate another New Year in true Cape Town style.
